Sounds like a complicated operation - so many things could have gone wrong. But at least these British have had the presence of mind to put the body at sea close to a country that actually had a shoreline. There is no danger that a tide would one day soon bring bin Laden's body ashore in Afghanistan (although there are lots of Pashtun nationalists dreaming to re-create Durrani's empire).

But it would be possible for it to mingle with Gandhi's remains. What a pity these two could not meet for a chat when alive!
